Una strada principale è quella che porta il design alla sua realizzazione, un tragitto, un chilometro qui identificato come Km/a che denota un marchio di moda austriaco presentato a White di Febbraio.
A stylish kilometre
A main road is the one that leads design to its realization, a journey, a kilometre which is here identified as Km/a, indicating an Austrian fashion brand presented at White in February.
La collezione sembra un’esplosione materica, qui il tessuto diventa protagonista, assumendo pari valore con le forme, risultato della ricerca portata avanti dal duo austriaco dei designers Katha Harrer e Michael Ellinger.
The collection resembles a material explosion, here fabric is the protagonist, it gets the same values of shapes, result of the research carried out by the Austrian duo – the designers Katha Harrer and Michael Ellinger.
Km/a riprende materiali e tecniche passate rielaborandole e fondendone assieme le varie peculiarità, così da creare nuove textures, livelli tridimensionali. Visti da lontano i capi sembrano quasi stampati, invece poi si scorge che il risultato deriva dal mix di lana e tessuti legati in diversi strati e che vengono fissati insieme, in modo da creare spazi di respiro tra una cucitura e l’altra.
Km/a recovers materials and ancient techniques, reprocessing them and blending their different peculiarities together, as to create new textures, three-dimensional levels. Seen from faraway, the pieces of clothing seem almost printed ones, and then you will understand that such a result is obtained from the mix of wool and fabrics tied up in different layers, and then fixed together to leave some space between one seam and the other.
Qui l’originalità è di casa, volere dei designers è infatti quello di discostarsi da una moda fatta in serie, dove ogni capo ha sempre qualche punto di differenza dall’altro, grazie alla minuziosa tecnica di confezione.
Here originality is a must, the designers actually aim at diverging from serial fashion, where each item is always different from the other, thanks to the minute manufacturing technique.
In effetti alcune delle stoffe utilizzate derivano da vecchi paracadute che cuciti con le lane e poi leggermente infeltriti, portano alla creazione di un prodotto totalmente originale e spesso inaspettato, come dei vestiti quasi scultorei, ma caldi ed eleganti, un’eleganza rinnovata nelle linee.
Some of the clothes used are obtained from old parachutes sewn with wool and then slightly felted, to produce an original and often unexpected item, clothes that almost resemble sculptures, but warm and elegant, a renewed elegance of lines.
La parola d’ordine è eclettismo di tessuti e materia, vecchie t-shirt diventano nuovi strumenti di sperimentazione naturale, con le loro stampe, nell’unione dei vari livelli, creano dei pattern dal risultato inatteso.
