Abbiamo intervistato Igor Kikot, già presente a White delle scorse edizioni e uno tra i nomi più prestigiosi della settimana della moda ucraina; di seguito alcuni tratti della sua vita e della sua esperienza lavorativa che possono arricchire chi vede nei nuovi incontri pure contaminazioni di stile.
We have interviewed Igor Kikot, who already attended the past editions of White. He is one of the most glamorous names of the Ukrainian fashion week; below are some traits of his life and of his working experience, which may enrich all those who interpret new meetings like pure style contaminations.

M: Quando hai capito che avresti lavorato nella moda?
Igor: La voglia di creare vestiti è nata subito dopo averne realizzato uno
M: Qual’è il primo capo che hai disegnato e cos’è importante per te come stilista?
Igor: I capi senza maniche
M: Il momento in cui hai deicso di realizzare la tua collezione?
Igor: Sette anni fa
M: Hai un un processo creativo che segui per ideare i tuoi capi?
Igor: Lavorare sulle maniche assemblando cappucci e sciarpe
M: Da cosa vieni ispirato?
Igor: Le ispirazioni arrivano da fonti di vita vissuta quotidianamente
M: Come definiresti lo stile della tua linea?
Igor: Vestiti strutturati realizzati con cura
M: Dove compri le materie prime e qual’è il tessuto con cui preferisci lavorare?
Igor: Noi lavoriamo solo con tessuti naturali. Lana, seta, cotone, tutto made in Italy
M: Preferisci disegnare i tuoi vestiti o passo subito alla costruzione del modello?
Igor: Preferisco disegnarli
M: Dove sono distribuiti i tuoi abiti e quali sono i tuoi punti vendita preferiti?
Igor: I miei negozi preferiti sono: “H.P.France” Tokyo, Osaka, Japan; “Sartor’s” Tolmezzo, Italia
M: Hai qualche interesse parallelo che influenza in qualche modo il tuo lavoro?
Igor: La musica e il silenzio creano delle vibrazioni che sono alla base della creatività
M: Come vedi il futuro della moda ucraina dei prossimi anni e come pensi lo stile dell’Est possa influenzare il mondo della moda?
Igor: Molti vestiti tipici della cultura ucraina possono essere traslati nella moda contemporanea e di conseguenza in quella europea

M: When did you decide to step into the fashion world?
Igor: The desire to design clothing began when I made my first dress
M: What was the first piece of clothing you designed and what is the most important aspect for you as a fashion designer?
Igor: One of the favorite pieces of clothing are sleeves
M: When did you decide to come out with your own collection?
Igor: 7 years ago
M: Do you have a process you go through to design and realize a piece of clothing?
Igor: Combining sleeves with hoods and scarves
M: From where do you draw your inspiration?
Igor: Inspiration comes from various sources which we live every day
M: How would you define the style of your line?
Igor: Deep clothes, made with care
M: Where do you buy your fabrics and which are your favourite ones to work with and why?
Igor: We work with natural fabrics. Wool, silk, cotton, made in Italy
M: Do you prefer sketching the clothes or going directly to their construction?
Igor: Sketches
M: Where do you sell your creations and what are some of your favourite clothing stores?
Igor: My favorite stores “H.P.France” Tokyo, Osaka, Japan; “Sartor’s” Tolmezzo, Italy
M: Do you have non-professional interests that have influenced your work somehow?
Igor: Music and silence, creates certain vibrations, which is the basis for creativity
M: How do you see the Ukrainian fashion market in the next years and how do you think the eastern style can influence the world of fashion?
Igor: Much of the Ukrainian national costume can be used in clothing, but it will look well only in the context of European clothing. I hope that the coming years will be productive for the Ukrainian fashion market
