WHITE da sempre scopre nuovi talenti non solo nella moda, ma anche nel mondo della fotografia e della videoarte.
Per l’edizione di settembre 2011 WHITE sceglie come special guest il fotografo iraniano Arash Radpour, l’artista che stravolge i concetti di identità , suggerendo interpretazioni artistiche contemporary. La collaborazione nasce dall’incontro tra Arash e Massimiliano Bizzi, fondatore di White, che osservando il suo lavoro comprende l’eccezionalità del suo linguaggio e decide così di presentarlo al mondo della moda. Durante l’ultima edizione del salone, ad Arash è stato chiesto di interpretare e rappresentare le collezioni dei sei giovani talenti dell’area lounge. Ne è nato un reportage sulle nuove collezioni durante l’evento alla Basilica di Sant’Eustorgio e un video, “Leanne”, il racconto di due sorelle lontane e vicine, sospeso fra ricordi d’infanzia e sensazioni profonde. Arash Radpour nasce a Teheran nel 1976 e all’età di quattro anni si trasferisce con l’intera famiglia a Roma. In Italia si affaccia al mondo della fotografia con la sua prima Zenit, regalo del nonno materno. E’ proprio con questa macchina fotografica che inizierà a scattare, all’età di 12 anni, le sue prime foto, senza mai più fermarsi. Terminati gli studi, Arash inizia a lavorare come fotografo pubblicitario per agenzie internazionali e per clienti del calibro di Renault, Pfeizer, Parmalat, Manetti & Roberts, Pepsi vincendo, nel 2003, il premio Mediastar per la migliore fotografia pubblicitaria. Nonostante il successo e i riconoscimenti ottenuti in ambito pubblicitario, Arash ha preferito però spostare la sua ricerca personale verso una direzione più libera che lo ha portato ad avvicinarsi sempre di più al mondo dell’arte e della videoarte. Attualmente collabora con diverse gallerie e musei internazionali. E’ dell’anno scorso la mostra itinerante “Surface”, dove star del cinema come Ewan McGregor e Nicolas Cage e registi come George Romero e Abel Ferrara si svelano dinanzi al suo obiettivo in tutta la loro essenza.

For the edition of September 2011 WHITE chooses the Iranian photographer Arash Radpour as a special guest. With his shots the artist distorts the concepts of identity and gender, suggesting contemporary artistic interpretations. This special collaboration stems from the meeting between Arash and Massimiliano Bizzi, founder of White, who noted his work and understood the exceptional nature of his language and consequently decided to present it to the world of fashion. During the last edition of White in September 2011 Arash was asked to interpret and represent the collections of the six young talents of the lounge area: from the shots of their new collections during the event at the Sant’Eustorgio Basilica to the editorial video, such as “Leanne”, a tale of two sisters near and far, hovering between childhood memories and deep feelings. Of Russian-Iranian origins Arash Radpour was born in Teheran in 1976 and at the age of four he moved to Rome with his family. In Italy he enters the world of photography with his first Zenit, a gift from his maternal grandfather. And it’s right with this camera that he will start shooting his first pictures at the age of 12, without ever stopping. Upon graduation, Arash starts working as an advertising photographer for international agencies and for clients such as Renault, Pfeizer, Parmalat, Manetti & Roberts, Pepsi with excellent results and winning, in 2003, the Mediastar award for the best advertising image. Despite the success and awards in advertising, however, Arash preferred to move his personal quest towards a free interpretation and pure creativity in a process that began years ago and which now led him to get closer to the world of art and video art. He is currently working with several art galleries and international museums around the world. It dates back to last year the traveling exhibition “Surface”, where movie stars like Ewan McGregor and Nicolas Cage and directors like George Romero and Abel Ferrara are revealed in front of his camera lens in their whole essence.
