Qualcuno lo chiama ‘il ladro dai mille volti’. Per altri è ‘la sagoma nera di Clerville’. Per White il 27 settembre 2009 è stato l’ospite inatteso e invisibile.
Diabolik, il Re del Crimine, è arrivato in via Tortona 27 a notte fonda e ha forzato il cancello e lasciato la sua Jaguar davanti all’ingresso principale. Dove è rimasta, in bella mostra per tutti e tre i giorni del salone. Qualcosa però, non ha girato per il verso giusto. Lo ha rivelato lo stesso Diabolik in un biglietto autografato, infilato sotto la porta d’accesso agli uffici. “Non rubo le idee, non sono un vigliacco”.
Cosa è successo?
Secondo l’ispettore Ginko che più di ogni altro conosce l’indole del suo astuto avversario, Diabolik era venuto a White per fotografare le creazioni dei giovani designer: un chiaro furto su commissione. “Forse Eva Kant deve averlo convinto definitivamente a lasciar perdere. Ma, conoscendola, non si è persa l’occasione per fare un po’ di shopping!” . Quindi, secondo Ginko, hanno aspettato che facesse giorno, si sono cambiati l’abito scegliendo un travestimento adatto al luogo, hanno lasciato tute e maschere nel baule della Jaguar e si sono mescolati alla gente che affluiva nel salone fin dalle prime ore.
Ci sono rimasti una giornata intera. Non hanno rubato niente. Hanno comprato le collezioni dei giovani designer. Lo ha capito l’ispettore quando ha letto il secondo biglietto: “Eva è felice. Diabolik ringrazia”.
Qualcuno ancora oggi dice di averli riconosciuti.
Qualcun altro giura, addirittura, di averli ripresi con il telefonino. Ma nessuno ha mai visto quelle immagini.
L’unica traccia tangibile della loro presenza a White è stata la Jaguar.
Il resto è leggenda.

For White on September 27th, 2009 he was the unexpected and invisible guest.
Diabolik, the King of Crime, arrived at via Tortona 27 late at night together with the inseparable Eva. He forced the entrance gate and left his Jaguar outside the main entrance.That’s where it remained for all three days of the show. But something went wrong. Diabolik himself revealed it in a ticket that he autographed and slipped under the main doors of the offices. “I don’t steal ideas, I am not a coward.”
But what happened?
According to Inspector Ginko who more than anyone else knows the nature of his clever adversary, Diabolik arrived at White and took pictures of the creations of young designers: a theft on commission. ” Maybe Eva Kant must have finally convinced him to give up. But, knowing her, she didnt give up the opportunity to do some shopping”. “Thus, according to Ginko, they waited until daybreak, left overalls and masks in the Jaguar’s trunk and mixed themselves to the people flowing to the show since the early hours.
They were there the whole day. They didn’t steal anything. They bought the collections of young designers. The inspector understood it when he read the second note: ”Eva is happy. Diabolik is grateful”.
Some people swear to have them recognized.
Someone else swears, to have caught them and filmed them with the phone. But no one has pictures that proves it.
The only proof of their presence at White is the Jaguard. The rest is legend.
